After three years, and after finally receiving the approval of the provincial Department of Housing, the Fuengirola Town Hall has unanimously agreed to give the go ahead to the development of a 61,000 square metre plot for residential purposes.
The project in Las Lomas de Torreblanca will see the council taking over 10,000 square metres of the land for new housing, consisting of 184 homes, of which 15 percent will be classified as VPO (state subsidised housing).
“There will be 148 flats and 36 family units, meaning more affordable housing within the municipality, which must be encouraged, especially during these hard economic times,” said a spokesman.
